Welcome to the Kansas Foster and Adoptive Parent Association blog. We have established this blog site to encourage comments and feedback from our members and others. I have just returned home from the JJA Conference held in Topeka. Initially I felt rather out of place there, but then I attended a session on JJA-Foster Care and the need for the two systems to work together. Later I attended an interesting session on sibling abuse. Going to conferences as a social worker is much different than going as the president of an association, and I had to think through the choices from the president perspective. I was pleased at the conclusion of the conference with the information I had obtained and the connections I had made. Please bear with us at KFAPA as we learn to use this blog. I hope the comments you read here are helpful. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to let us know via our website, kfapa.org. We will be posting the Regional Vice Presidents' contact information at our website as well in the near future. Thank you. Saundra Hiller, LMSW, President
